Ann Philo age 34 was admitted to Hanwell Asylum on 9 May 1842. (I have a copy of the record)
Hanwell Asylum sometimes known as Middlesex County Lunatic Asylum was the first purpose-built public asylum in England and Wales, and it opened as the First Middlesex County Asylum in 1831, technically it was in Norwood parish. It looks as though Ann Philo stayed here until she died in 1865

      In the 1851 census
HO107/1697/616/19 Hayes Precinct of Norwood, Uxbridge, Middlesex (Middlesex Lunatic Asylum)
      P A Patient Unmarried 41

      In the 1861 census
RG9/770/85/17 Hayes Precinct of Norwood, Uxbridge, Middlesex (Middlesex Lunatic Asylum)
      P A Lunatic Unmarried 51

These two entries tie up with the location and age of Ann Philo who died at the Middlesex Lunatic Asylum in 1865 age 54

An Ann Philo age 54 died on 10 June 1865 at Middlesex Lunatic Asylum at Norwood (Hayes) of Phthisis, Pulmonalis & Abdominales, she had been sent there from Islington (Workhouse?). Is this her? I have a copy of the certificate
